Painting invites me to uncharted places. Through it, I explore feelings that aren't pretty or that I have a hard time articulating. And mostly, feelings that don't seem to belong anywhere else.

I tend to create each painting to a single song that I listen to over and over on repeat. To be perfectly honest, Taylor Swift's Out of the Woods led directly to this painting. And San Holo's b song by Analogue Dear led to this one.

Putting this piece out into the world.

I learned something the week I painted this something that broke me in new ways.

I remember the anxiety of wanting answers before I called things off. I wanted proof or a concrete explanation. It's human condition for our brain to train to make sense of things.

Instead, I just let go... or at least opened my grip...
